What motivated you to become a ClarkLEADER?
Starting engineering was an exciting but challenging experience, both academically and socially. It was not only overwhelming by academic coursework, but also by adjusting to a new social environment. In the beginning, it could be nerve-wracking to put yourself out there and connect with other fellow students. This initial struggle is what ultimately motivated me to become a ClarkLEADER. I aim to help incoming students feel welcomed and make friends, enabling them to interact with others in engineering and benefit from these connections in the long run.
What is one piece of advice you would like to share with new Maryland Engineering Students?
Engineering is not a solo journey; it is a team effort. Make friends during your time in school, as this will not only help you succeed academically but also make your college experience worthwhile.
What are some organizations or extracurricular activities you think new students should know about?
American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), Terrapin Rockets, and Clark School Ambassadors.
If you attended ClarkLEAD as a first-year student, what did you enjoy most about the event?
When I attended ClarkLEAD as a first-year student, the part of the event that I enjoyed the most was meeting other fellow engineering students and building friendships.
