A new donor wall in the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering (CHBE) was unveiled on April 8, 2026, when members of the community gathered to honor the lasting impact of our philanthropic partners in our students’ success.

The donor wall honors the individuals, families, and corporate partners, whose contributions have created opportunities for students, enhanced academic programs, and supported the department’s mission in meaningful and lasting ways. These investments touch nearly every aspect of student life and learning, among those, helping expand undergraduate experiential learning opportunities, which allows students to engage in research earlier in their academic careers and translate classroom knowledge into discovery.

They also support student competition teams, including Chem-E-Car, where students build technical, design, and teamwork skills while preparing for regional and national events, and strengthen teaching and learning spaces such as the Unit Operations Laboratory, where students gain practical experience applying engineering concepts in real-world settings. Philanthropy also helps sustain student-run organizations such as the Chemical Engineering Graduate Student Association, and 15 department-level scholarships that relieve financial burdens for undergraduate students so they can focus more fully on their education.

“This donor wall recognizes the extraordinary generosity of the alumni, families, and partners who invest in our students and in the future of this department,” said CHBE Professor and Chair Peter Kofinas. “Their support creates opportunities for learning, discovery, and professional growth that have a lasting impact on our community.”
