What Made You Decide to Attend UMD?
UMD is an in-state school, and I wanted to pursue Materials Science and Engineering, which is offered here. The research and campus resources were captivating. I also wanted to go to a large college to meet new people.

Best Experience with a Class or Project
ENMA300: Intro to Materials Engineering. We had a group project where we had to design protective measures to redirect ships using dolphins for bridges. This is one of the classes where I applied the theoretical knowledge gained in class to a real-world scenario. Working in a group was also nice since we played to each other's strengths.

Favorite Class In Major
ENMA301: Modern Materials Engineering

Favorite Class Out of Major
HNUH248B: Sustainable Agriculture

Student Organizations/Extracurricular Activities
UMD Moksha
MatES
Undergraduate Teaching Fellow
Research Intern at AMML.

Favorite On-Campus Event
Maryland Day. There are so many fun activities to do for everyone, and you get to learn more about the departments, extracurriculars, and meet new people.

Favorite Research or Study Abroad Experiences
ENME407: Sustainability, Climate Change and Renewable Energy Systems. This was a short-term Spring Break study abroad and one of my top 10 experiences here at UMD thus far. It was so much fun, I met new people, and I was able to contextualize engineering in the real world as well.

Cool Engineering Experience
I go to Terrapin Works to 3D print things or try new things out in general. I experimented with flower preservation by resin casting, and that was a fun experience. I leveraged what I learned in my lab to a creative arts project and was able to share that project process with Terrapin Works staff.
