Engineering Career Services Peer Assistants help students with resume reviews, job search strategies, and general career advice. They also help to lead career workshops and events. Whether you come in person or schedule a virtual appointment, you will likely meet one of the following students.

Harjas Aneja HeadshotHarjas Aneja is a freshman in Mechanical Engineering and is interested in minoring in sustainability. In the future, she wants to work as an energy engineer. She is currently fundraising chair for Theta Tau. As a peer advisor, she hopes to help students with their resumes and overall professional development. 
Elizabeth Hutchins HeadshotElizabeth Hutchins (she/her) is a junior majoring in Civil and Environmental Engineering with a focus on the Water Resources and Environmental track. With a strong commitment to sustainability, she aspires to pursue a career in the sustainability industry after graduation, aiming to make a positive impact on the world. Elizabeth finds joy in connecting with new students at the Career Services Center and contributing positively by assisting them with resumes and LinkedIn profiles.
Riya Kadaru HeadshotRiya Kadaru (she/her) is a sophomore Electrical Engineering major with a minor in advanced cybersecurity (ACES). Along with that, she is a part of the Women In Engineering Living-Learning Program. Riya hopes to specialize in microelectronics or power systems. Outside of her classes, she is a part of Maryland Masti, an organization that hosts garba/raas dance competitions. Riya is always open to meeting new people and doesn't hesitate to lend a helping hand whether it's for advice on resumes, internship applications, or how to ace your interview. 
Bintou Koroma is a junior bioengineering major. Passionate about the life sciences, she also enjoys the technicality of an engineering degree and the problem-solving it entails. After graduation, she hopes to find work in tissue engineering and regenerative medicine. She is excited to help you bring out the best out of your skills and experiences on your resumes, Linkedin Profiles, and Cover Letters.

Jennifer Opara (she/her) is a sophomore electrical engineering major. With a great interest in coding, she enjoys diving into projects while learning a new language. As a minority, she is eager to welcome more students of color and women into the engineering field. After graduation, she hopes to work as a software engineer, where she can take people’s desires, and translate it to something digestible to many people through code. For now, Jennifer wants to help students be the best versions of themselves through improving resumes and LinkedIn profiles.

Angel Oparaocho HeadshotAngel Oparaocha (she/her) is a sophomore civil and environmental major. Since she was young, she has been fascinated with infrastructure and loves to travel to new cities to see how their buildings are designed. After graduation, she wants to work in construction as a project engineer and wants to work on projects that use sustainable materials and energy. Angel is very excited to help students present their best selves to employers, whether it is through improving their resumes, tips on interviewing, and more!
Colin Sample HeadshotColin Sample is a sophomore, Civil Engineering major and Sustainability minor. He is very interested in project management and construction. He is currently involved with Engineers without Borders and outside of engineering, he is in the scholars program, Environment, Technology and the Economy. As a peer advisor, he hopes to help students achieve success in their careers by providing support with resumes, Linkedins and interview prep!
Dev Shanker HeadshotDev Shanker (he/him) is a junior Aerospace Engineering major with a minor in Robotics and Autonomous Systems. He has aspirations towards planetary exploration and automation in the space manufacturing industry. Outside of school, he serves as a Clark Ambassador and is also heavily involved in the Society of Asian Scientists and Engineers and the Theta Tau Professional Engineering Fraternity. Above all, Dev loves helping students with their resumes, LinkedIn profiles, and any career advice they need to reach their goals and utmost potential.

Outside of engineering, Andrew is the Editor-in-Chief of the Hare, UMD's satirical publication. He hopes to use his editing and writing skills to help students perfect their resumes.
Brandon Soobitsky  is a junior electrical engineering major with aspirations towards biotechnical manufacturing and renewable resources. He is always willing to help out students with any of their professional needs, whether that is through resume writing, LinkedIn advice, and career fair guidance. Outside of the Career Services Center, Brandon has served on the executive board for the professional engineering fraternity Theta Tau, worked as a Lab Teaching Fellow for ENES100, and was involved with College Park Scholars within the Environment, Technology, and Economy program.

Tasnim Ullah HeadshotTasnim Ullah (sher/her) is a junior bioengineering and information science double major and part of the GEMS honors program. She is also a social media manager for Startup Shell. She hopes to intersect her passion for medicine and technology, and is interested in product management. In her free time, she likes to bake and take pictures. She hopes to help students perfect their resume and LinkedIn, and help students achieve their goals in getting a internship or job!
Jimmy Yates HeadshotJimmy Yates (he/him) is a sophomore civil and environmental engineering major passionate about sustainability and part of the QUEST honors program. He is also a leader in the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers and Theta Tau Professional Engineering Fraternity. Jimmy is looking forward to finding a career that combines his interests for energy, sustainability, and consulting. He thoroughly enjoys helping students improve their resumes, grow their networks, prepare for interviews, and professionally develop in every way.
