The Clark School of Engineering takes exception to policy requests extremely seriously. We will consider exceptions to academic policy only in rare and extraordinary circumstances. It is the student’s responsibility to submit an exception request that is clear and concise. When making a request, it is important to include supporting documentation for any specific claim that is made within the exception narrative. This supporting documentation should provide context and reinforce the request.

Prior to submitting an exception, students should review this website in its entirety so that the exception request is as complete and detailed as possible.

Any questions or comments about the Exception to Policy process should be sent to engr-exceptions@umd.edu.
