Mitra, Zhang Awarded Wylie Fellowships

ECE graduate students Vikramjit Mitra and Yufu Zhang have been awarded 2010-2011 Ann G. Wylie Dissertation Fellowships. Mitra and Zhang were the only two Clark School students to receive this prestigious, university-wide fellowship.

Mitra is advised by Prof. Carol Espy-Wilson, while Zhang is advised by Prof. Ankur Srivastava. Mitra's research focuses on signal processing and innovative approaches toward robust speech recognition. Zhang's research focuses on the power/thermal issues of today's high-performance, multi-core processors.

The Ann G. Wylie Dissertation Fellowship includes a $10,000 stipend and tuition remission for one semester. Only a small number of students are selected each year to receive the fellowship based on a rigorous, university-wide nomination and selection process. The Wylie Fellowship is intended to reward outstanding students and help them devote their full attention to the quality of their dissertation. More information is available at the Graduate School website.
