The National Action Council for Minorities in Engineering (NACME) will present Dean Darryll Pines with its Alumni Circle Award at an awards dinner on September 29.

NACME works with America's leading corporations to sustain and increase the pool of underrepresented minority students pursuing careers in engineering. Since 1974, NACME has spent more than $120 million in scholarship and support services for more than 22,000 African American, American Indian and Latino students at 160 colleges and universities nationwide.

The award honors those who have demonstrated significant commitment and dedication to increasing the representation of underrepresented minority students in engineering careers, according to NACME.

The awards dinner is expected to raise more than $4 million for scholarship support for African American men, American Indian and Latino students in engineering.
