Members of the University of Maryland community will descend upon the state capital February 14, 2006, to advocate in front of legislators for funds for the school.

Gov. Robert Ehrlich has proposed the largest increase in funding for higher education, but this budget needs to be approved by the state legislature. Supporters of the school will meet with legislators over a buffet lunch in the Miller Senate Office Building.

Past attendees have persuaded legislators to halt budget cuts and reinvest in higher education.

Buses will leave from Cole Field House at 11 a.m. and return from Lawyer's Mall in Annapolis at 1:30 p.m., 2 p.m. and 2:30 p.m.

Undergraduates can participate by attending a presentation on "Internships in Annapolis." Buses for this activity will depart Cole Field House at 10:30 a.m.

Registration for all activities is required: www.stategov.umd.edu.
