 
What does an incoming intern need to know?
The University of Maryland LC of IAESTE welcomes you to our area, and the greater Washington area. The Washington, D.C. (District of Columbia) area is not only the United States capital, but a hub of business, research, and policy. We proudly support one of the nation’s best technology hubs termed the “Technology Corridor”. Furthermore, the U.S. government based out of Washington funds a lot of research, a lot of which is conducted regionally. The University of Maryland itself is one of the best research institutions of higher learning in the United Sates. Washington being a major city, there is also plenty of entertainment available. Washington hosts a ridiculously huge array of museums as well as shops, theatres, good food and more.

- The drinking age in the United States is 21
