Clark School Celebrates Students, Honors Alumni and Faculty at Spring 2013 Commencement
Spring Commencement was held on May 20. Keynote speakers included alumna and NASA Engineer Florence Tan (B.S. '86) and student speaker Juan Quintero-Moreno. Dr. Steven Marcus received the Poole & Kent Teaching Award for Senior Faculty. "Golden Terps" alumni were also honored. Learn more
Clark School's New Robotic Bird, "Robo Raven," So Realistic It Can Fool a Hawk
Profs. S. K. Gupta & Hugh Bruck and their students have developed a new robotic bird, "Robo Raven." The bird's wings flap independently of each other and can be programmed to perform aerobatic maneuvers, the first with these capabilities. A hawk even mistook Robo Raven for a real bird and attacked it. See the video
Michael Pack Receives "Champion of Change" Award from White House
The Clark School's Center for Advanced Transportation Technology (CATT) Director Michael Pack was recognized by the White House at an event on May 8 as a Transportation “Champion of Change” for his exemplary leadership in developing and implementing transportation technology solutions. Learn more
Terps Racing Team Featured in CTV News Video
Terps on the Hill, June 13, 6-8 pm, Rayburn Building Join members of the Maryland Congressional Delegation, University of Maryland President Wallace D. Loh, the Chapter Boards of the College of Behavioral and Social Sciences, the School of Public Policy, the Robert H. Smith School of Business, and the A. James Clark School of Engineering as well as the Maryland Alumni Association's Capitol Alumni Terp Network for an exciting gathering of alumni who work on the Hill or in a government agency.
