Clark School Graduate Program Ranks 18th Nationally

US NewsIn the U.S. News & World Report 2013 Best Graduate Schools ranking, the Clark School jumped from 22nd to 18th place, 9th among public schools. Six departmental programs ranked in the top 25.

Wereley Named Aerospace Engineering Chair

Norman WereleyNorman M. Wereley, the Techno-Sciences Professor of Aerospace Engineering will serve the Department of Aerospace Engineering as chair. He takes over from Mark Lewis, who will now lead the Science and Technology Policy Institute at the Institute of Defense Analyses.



Regents Recognize Kiger for Teaching

KigerMechanical engineering associate professor Kenneth Kiger will receive the 2012 Regents Faculty Award for Teaching from the University System of Maryland (USM) Board of Regents.

Great Expectations Spotlight: Newton Scholarship to Benefit Underrepresented Minorities

Michael Frame (Ph.D. '98, aerospace engineering) joined the Division of Research at UMD as director for strategic corporate partnerships and the UMD-Lockheed Martin Strategic Partnership.

Mark Lawrence (M.S. '02, telecommunications) was named among Innovate Prince George's Forty Under 40: 2012 Honorees (Prince George's County, Md.).

Ali Rangwala (M.S. '02, fire protection engineering) has been promoted to associate professor of fire protection engineering and granted tenure at Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
