Alumnus Gordon England Inducted into NAE
Electrical engineering alumnus Hon. Gordon England (B.S. '61) has been inducted into the National Academy of Engineering. Election to the academy is among the highest honors in engineering.
Espy-Wilson, Briber Honored for Passion for Learning
Professor Carol Espy-Wilson (left; electrical and computer engineering and Institute for Systems Research) and Professor and Chair Rob Briber (materials science and engineering) are two of this year's University of Maryland Distinguished Scholar-Teacher honorees.
Engineers Without Borders Completes Projects in Africa
Clark School Engineers Without Borders teams recently completed a solar-powered water supply and sanitation system for a rural health clinic in Burkina Faso and a pedestrian bridge in Ethiopia.
Pepco Buys UMd.'s Solar Decathlon-Winning Home for Public Display
Electric service provider Pepco is purchasing WaterShed, the international-prize-winning solar house built by UMD students, faculty and partners. Pepco plans to locate the high-tech building at one of its facilities in Montgomery County, Md.
