Hi everyone,


AESA (Asian Engineering Student Association) would like to
welcome you back to school. First, I hope all of you had
a nice summer! And that the first few weeks of school is
not too rough. Well, if it is we are here to help. Along
with being an academic club don't forget AESA is also
a social club! This is a new semester and there is going to
be alot of EVENTS, so keep inform and don't miss out.



Here is the information on our first
general meeting for the year:

Place: Room 0110, Engineering Bldg.



  1. UNITY PICNIC
    Held on Sept 20, in front of EGR BLDG
    OMSE (Office of Minority Student Engineer)
    will be having a picnic and AESA will be
    there (free food and fun)!

  2. First Look Fair
    Held on Sept 25, McKeldin Mall
    We need volunteers to help out at the booth.
    This is a recruitment process and chance to
    other clubs at UMCP.

  3. East of California Conference
    This is event is going to be enormous!
    Several schools are attending this event.
    It entails workshops and guest speakers on
    topics of Asian-American studies. There will
    be a dinner and dance. We need on-campus student
    to help with sleeping quaters!!

  4. Voter Registration Drive
    Did you know that Congress believe that the rights to
    free education should be cut?!! This could affect all
    of us. There are more starking issuses that we will present
    please come make a difference.

  5. Dance/ Cultural Night
    AESA is heading a dance with several other
    clubs: CSA (Chinese Student Association)
    SWE (Society of Women Engineer)
    IEEE (Internation Electronic Electrical Engineer)
    ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineer)
    Our social events are always big, so see how you can
    get involved.

  6. Intramural Sports
    We have always come in second or third place. This
    Year, we are going to take the GOLD! We hope to have
    members out for: Basketball
    Volleyball
    Soccer

  7. Thank God Its Friday Events
    Clubbing at SPY and Z
    Dim Sum (if anyone who doesn't what this is come and join in!)
    Bowling at Stamp Union
    Poker Night for everyone who is low on cash :)
    Ice skating

  8. MONEY!!!! Scholarships
    These two scholarships, in the amount of $200 and $100 each,
    which bears the name of a very special person. We'd like to
    match them up with two very special recipients.

  9. Summer Internship/ Research Oppurtunity
    For all who are interested there are available
    paid and non-paid interships come and find
    how you can obtain these positions.

  10. We encourage academical excellence, leadership and most of all
    a friendly atmosphere to have fun.
