The SeaPerch Camp is a 1-week virtual/remote summer program that provides students with the opportunity to learn about robotics, engineering, science, and mathematics (STEM) through a variety of hands-on projects. Students will design, build and simulate the performance of a SeaPerch using the VPerch app. Three (3) 1-week sessions will be held in July 2021. Sessions 1 and 2 (rising 8th and 9th graders) will have the same content.
During each session of VPerch, students will engage in workshops that teach basic engineering and science concepts to introduce students to the "engineering design process" as it relates to SeaPerch. The "engineering design process" will be taught through a variety of projects that focus on buoyancy, electricity, motors, and structures.
During Sessions 1 and 2, students will engage in hands-on workshops which focus on Buoyancy-Archimedes Principle, structures, electric circuits, and motors.
During Session 3 students will engage in hands-on workshops which focus on Buoyancy-Archimedes Principle, structures, micro-controllers (through the use of a coding kit), electricity, propulsion and motors.
Students will need to have access to a laptop or a desktop (with a camera and audio) to be able to fully participate in the program.
Session 1
July 12- July 16, 2021 (Students who will be enrolled in the 8th and 9th grades in Fall 2021) - 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Session 2
July 19 - 23, 2021 (Students who will be enrolled in the 8th and 9th grades in Fall 2021) - 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Session 3
July 26 - July 30, 2021 (Students who will be enrolled in the 10th and 11th grades in Fall 2021) - 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Session 1 & 2 Camp - $350 includes camp materials that parents will be able to pick-up from campus. The location for pickup is to be determined. 10 students maximum for Session 1 and 10 students maximum for Session 2
Session 3 Camp - $375 includes camp materials that parents will be able to pick-up from campus. The location for pickup is to be determined. 10 students maximum for Session 3.
- Applications will be reviewed and parent/guardian will be made aware of their child's acceptance into the program.
- Parents will receive a payment link to pay the program fees.
- Payment accepted in the form of debit/credit card only
- Payment will due 3 business days after parent emailed of student's acceptance
Session 1 - July 12-16 Students who will be enrolled in the 8th and 9th grades in fall 2021.
Session 2 - July 19-23 Students who will be enrolled in the 8th and 9th grades in fall 2021.
Session 3 - July 26-30 Students who will be enrolled in the 10th and 11th grades in fall 2021.
A maximum of 10 students per camp.
All cancellations must be made in writing.
Cancellations made before June 1, will be refunded all except $150.
Cancellations made between June 1 and June 15 will be refunded $150.
Cancellation requests made after June 16, 2021 are non-refundable.
