Gamera II Sails Past Last Year's World Record

The Clark School's human-powered helicopter team unofficially has succeeded in besting its own world record from 2011, flying the new vehicle, Gamera II, for more than 50 seconds. That flight is awaiting certification. Learn more at the team's web site.

Chellappa Named Chair of Electrical and Computer Engineering

ChellappaProfessor Rama Chellappa will serve the Clark School’s Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering as chair beginning July 1. He has served as interim chair since May of last year.

James P. Begley (B.S. '96, fire protection engineering) was listed among Consulting-Specifying Engineer's 2012 "40 Under 40."

James D. Smith (B.S. '83, electrical engineering) is a chief administrative patent judge at the Board of Patent Appeals and Interferences at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.

Carol Wong (B.S. '08, mechanical engineering) is a volunteer with the Chesapeake Conservation Corps at South River Foundation. She will attend Stanford in the fall where she has an NSF fellowship towards a master's degree in environmental engineering.
