Gamera World Record is Official as Team Attempts Historic Push for AHS Sikorsky Prize for Human-Powered Flight
The Gamera human-powered helicopter team had their August 28, 2012 flight certified as a world record of 65.1 seconds by the FAI. The team has now set its sights on the $250K AHS Sikorsky Prize. Stay up to date with the Gamera team's progress online.
Jeong Kim Nominated for Ministry Post in South Korea
South Korea's President-elect Park Geun Hye has nominated Clark School alumnus, benefactor and Professor of the Practice Jeong H. UMD Teams with GWU, VT to Launch Mid-Atlantic Innovation Hub with $3.75M NSF I-Corps Grant
The University of Maryland, along with George Washington University and Virginia Tech, received a $3.75M National Science Foundation (NSF) grant to launch a regional Innovation Corps (I-Corps) program to identify the best entrepreneurial student and faculty researchers and help them bring their discoveries to market. Civil and Environmental Engineering Team Captures Clark School Alumni Cup
The Clark School Alumni Cup, an annual engineering design competition started in 2012 by the University of Maryland Alumni Association's Engineering Chapter, drew a crowd of students, faculty, staff, and alumni to the Kim Engineering Building Rotunda on February 22. The Civil and Environmental Engineering student team capture 1st place in this year's competition. Read more here.

Over 600 high school girls from across the region gathered at the University of Maryland on February 23, 2013 for the Women in Engineering (WIE) Program’s 5th annual DREAM (Developing Revolutionary Engineers And Mentors) Conference to explore their passion for engineering and innovation.
