What Made You Decide to Attend UMD?
The aspect of the University of Maryland that appealed to me most was opportunity. I found that at UMD I have a myriad of options that would allow me to reach my full academic and social potential. Whether it be through clubs and competition teams or the vast academic curriculums, UMD will give me the option to customize my education and reach my goals.
Best Experience with a Class or Project
The best experience that I had with a class project was in ENES102 when we built a truss and tested how much weight it could hold. It was super interesting to see how we could apply what we were learning in class to a fun and hands-on group project!

Favorite On-Campus Event
My favorite on-campus event is going to the annual flash mob basketball game! Every year Maryland athletics picks one game to have a secret flash mob and all the students come to the game an hour early to learn the dance and surprise the audience during the game.
Favorite Research or Study Abroad Experiences
My favorite research project was one that involved going to Washington DC and analyzing the effectiveness of bike lanes to control scooter traffic. It was very interesting to research how evolving transportation systems are influencing urban infrastructure.
Cool Engineering Experience
One of my favorite engineering experiences is the Alumni Cup competition. Alumni cup is an annual competition where the 8 different engineering departments compete in creating a Rube Goldberg machine. Everyone on our team became very close and it was a great way to put our engineering knowledge to the test!
