What Made You Decide to Attend UMD?
I decided to attend UMD because of the vast variety of opportunities offered here. Just within engineering, there are competition teams that touch on all engineering majors offered here. There are support programs for groups of students that are minorities within engineering such as the Women in Engineering and Society of Women Engineers. There are also professional organizations such as the American Society of Civil Engineers and even engineering Greek life. I felt like the engineering world was wide open to me at UMD and as someone who came in undecided, the Clark School has really helped me find my place in engineering.v

Best Experience with a Class or Project
One of my favorite classes was ENCE 201, which is a MATLAB class. It was hard, but a group of friends and I formed a study group together which made it better – especially because we always ended up studying for about half the time while the rest of the time was spent hanging out!

Favorite Class In Major
ENCE 200: Civil Engineering Computation

Favorite Class Out of Major
JWST 171: Is Judaism a Religion?

Student Organizations/Extracurricular Activities
Project Manager for ASCE Steel Bridge Team, RecWell Climbing Wall Staff, TerpSki, Intramural Soccer, American Society of Civil Engineers

Favorite On-Campus Event
I love going to the soccer games on campus! The student section is so much fun to be a part of. I just wish I started going earlier in my time at UMD!

Favorite Research or Study Abroad Experiences
I haven’t done research or gone abroad (yet!), but I am headed to Madrid soon for a semester abroad that I’m super excited about!

Cool Engineering Experience
I got to learn to weld my freshman year for the Steel Bridge Team! I definitely have a lot of room to improve but it’s a cool skill to have and a great conversation starter.
