What Made You Decide to Attend UMD?
I really wanted a school with a strong engineering program with the opportunity to study abroad. I also was looking for a big school atmosphere with plenty of opportunities and events to attend.

Best Experience with a Class or Project
My best experience with a class project was for my short term study abroad class where we went to Athens and analyzed a park. We then redesigned the park to make it as sustainable as possible with pervious surfaces and renewable energy while improving the park atmosphere. It was a fun way to get to travel and also practice a lot of the sustainability and construction techniques I had learned.

Favorite Class
ENCE215: Engineering for Sustainability

Favorite Class Out of Major
URSP250: The Sustainable City

Student Organizations/Extracurricular Activities
I am a founder of Epsilon Eta which is a co-ed environmental professional fraternity whose goal is to create a professional network for students planning on going into environmental careers. I am also a member of the Quidditch club who are top ranked nationally and have competed across the country for regional and national competitions.

Favorite On-Campus Event
My favorite event on campus are the basketball games. I love going with my friends and experiencing the atmosphere!

Favorite Research or Study Abroad Experiences
I have completed a short term study abroad experience in Athens and have completed a full semester abroad in Copenhagen. My favorite experience was being able to hike in the Faroe Islands when on my full semester abroad because it was a place I have always wanted to go and see such a unique environment.

Cool Engineering Experience
My coolest engineering experience was writing code for my environmental engineering research position. This code had to separate storms and measure runoff based off of rainfall data for months at a time, making it challenging to complete but really fulfilling to help out the project.
