What Made You Decide to Attend UMD?
I decided to attend UMD because it was the school with the best resources for my major. It's proximity to a big city like DC was also a huge factor in making my decision.

Best Experience with a Class or Project
I took an entrepreneurship class while studying abroad in Spain and got to work on a research project with my professor. We worked on building a new example business model for his start up. I got introduced to the business side of engineering and product development, which is something I was not very familiar with beforehand.

Favorite Class
ENME 421

Involvements/Extracurricular Activities
Outside of class, I enjoy working as a Lab Technician at Terrapin Works. It is very fulfilling and interesting each time I process a 3D print for a customer. I also enjoy serving as the President of the Society of Women in Mechanical Engineering and helping to build a community and empower women in my department.

Favorite On-Campus Event
I love going to the basketball games at the Xfinity center! I also love going to see movies at the Hoff Theater at the Stamp Student Union.

Research/Study Abroad Experience
Studying abroad in Madrid, Spain, is one of my favorite life experiences. I spent 5 months picking up on the language and culture, traveling within and outside of Spain, meeting new people and trying new things and it definitely improved my global outlook.

Cool Engineering Experience
During my last summer and winter breaks, I interned with Oceaneering International and was exposed to the field of marine engineering. I worked with other engineers to improve, and develop various sub sea machines. Most importantly, I got to experience exactly what it is to be an engineer creating useful things that work.
