The Maryland Transportation Institute at the University of Maryland is pleased to announce a summer course in choice modeling to be held on the UMD College Park campus from May 18 to May 20, 2020

This course will cover the basics of data analysis and DCM theory, adopting a practical approach to real case studies. This program offered at UMD presents an entry level to the field, going over the basic concepts and providing a glimpse of advanced data analysis techniques and modeling constructs.

Attendees will learn how to analyze real data from the National Household Travel Survey (NHTS), to design Stated Preference surveys (orthogonal and efficient) to collect ad-hoc data for their projects, and to estimate, validate and apply Discrete Choice models making use of state-of-the-art software packages.

Students, consultants and professionals will all benefit from learning these techniques that are extensively applied both in four-step models and activity-based models.

Course can be used used for 1 Professional Development Hour for Professional Engineers in Maryland, District of Columbia, and Virginia.
