This internship award was created by the friends and colleagues of Charles D. Striffler to honor his dedication to the University and as the first director of the College Park Scholars Program in Science, Technology and Society. This award will be given to a student who successfully identifies an internship opportunity, paid or unpaid, that combines the intellectual challenges of the CPS/STS program with usefulness to community, discipline or profession.

Other eligibility requirements:Established to provide an annual internship award for a student at the University of Maryland who is enrolled in the CPS/STS program or who has received the program certificate.
