This fund was established by a bequest from Alvin L. Aubinoe, a prominent builder and architect in the Washington, DC area and former member of the University of Maryland Board of Regents. Recipients are selected on the basis of demonstrated aptitude and interest for a career in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or Light Construction.

Other eligibility requirements:

Demonstrated aptitude and interest for a career in Civil Engineering or Architecture. Students will be eligible to receive the award beginning their freshman year and continuing until they graduate, provided they remain in good standing and make normal progress. Preference is given to students who exhibit financial need and are working to contribute to the cost of their education.
