Electrical engineering alumnus Hon. Gordon England (B.S. '61) has been inducted into the National Academy of Engineering. Election to the academy is among the highest honors in engineering.

Electric service provider Pepco is purchasing WaterShed, the international-prize-winning solar house built by UMD students, faculty and partners. Pepco plans to locate the high-tech building at one of its facilities in Montgomery County, Md.
