Attention, Fire Protection Alumni and Friends!

Thanks for your interest in the 50th Anniversary Alumni Weekend and Gala Dinner.

Agenda
The events begin on Friday night (October 13, 2006) with the Welcome Happy Hour at the Greenbelt Marriott's Pitcher's Sports Bar, beginning at 6:30 p.m. Saturday begins with tours of the new department offices (unfortunatley, many labs are still under construction) and a ribbon "burning"/dedication ceremony at 10:00 a.m., followed by lunch. Saturday night is the main 50th anniversary event, the Gala Dinner. Arrive at 6:30 p.m. to party the night away at the new Riggs Alumni Center overlooking Byrd Stadium. The Gala Dinner will be a cocktail attire event with a large dance floor so plan to wear your dancing shoes!

Lodging
A block of rooms has been reserved at the Greenbelt Marriott for a group rate of $129.00/night (Friday and Saturday nights). Reservations can be made either by calling 1-800-676-5975 or by going to our own Marriott website, www.stayatmarriott.com/fireprotection. Please book your room by September 22 to secure this special rate. Space is very limited at the local hotels due to all the sporting events in the fall.
